How do they NOT get counted? If it's 69 it's 69!

They tell them not to slab if they don't grade 70. They get returned to sell raw.

Why ? I would think a PF69 would sell for more than a raw coin.

Maybe on the coin TV shows they do. This one is working really odd. So far 69s are selling for a bit less than ungraded and 70s are selling for maybe $1000 over ungraded.

The one exception is the unopened box from the mint which seems to do a bit better than the opened ungraded. I think because of the possibility of it being a hand signed certificate.

As far as ebay goes the 69s are going for like $1500-1600. Ungraded goes for like $1500-1600. Unopened mint box for like $1600-1800 and 70s for $2600 to like $3200.
Just what I'm seeing. There's aberrations of course to this.

Point is, you can't judge the grade through rate as a simple percentage of the total as not all 69's get slabbed.

This has really amazed me on its strength. I would have thought it would have pulled back some but it’s like the energizer bunny. It keeps going and going and going. I would assume the ceiling is soon but I thought that a few weeks ago, lol.

Its part of the market manipulation game they are playing.

Historically, 69's are a raw plus grading fees back. Depending on submission tier, could add $125 in grading fees.

The bulk submitters get discounts, have no plans to keep, and simply dump them out.

It's about fitting their margins on sales, compared to the guy with only 1 coin to sell.

I was going to keep mine but at these prices I might have to sell so I can get that Lincoln 09 s VDB I always wanted.

Where's the "manipulation" here, other than offering and bidding, buying and selling?

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see what effect the label play will have on raw examples. The PCGS deadline for mailing (first strike label) is Dec 16th.
Sealed should do much better over the next week as these labels expire for opened raws.
I won't get into the marketing aspects but to say people like labels. Clothes, cars, and other life choices.

Interesting...cuz NGC has a disclaimer that states "All coins MUST be graded". So I guess dealers get special privileges? Hmmm.

I think that's actually the first edited mock up, lifted off the PCGS site. The original had 2 typos, then one.

Interesting low by PH on the 69's. L & C had them at $1600. Do we hear $1,400? Race to the bottom has commenced...

I'll find out when I get my COA back...

Don't have to wait for that, the mint COA's don't include the typos.

How long do rush and regular grading take to get back ?

The coin sold on November 14th....most people got it by November 25th...some in early-December (I think)....then add the grading time, and coins should be hitting the last few days I figure.

When the bulk of the submitted coings start arriving home, that's when I would expect the price weakness, assuming it hits.

I'm a bit surprised but not shocked. I think many people believe it will be as hot or hotter than the 1995-W simply by focusing on total mintage numbers.

Yeah the ill informed purchasers exist.... not really thinking too deeply about the two very different scenarios.

I don't believe we'll see the pullback until after the holidays. After that, all bets are off.
