I recently pulled the trigger on this $20 gold piece (these are the seller's pictures, as I don't have it in hand yet). What grade would you assign based on these pics? I'm inclined to give this at least an MS-61 grade based on these photos (which admittedly could convey more). Are there any particular areas you key into when judging these $20 Liberty heads? I'll post more images once I have it in hand.
The slab grade is somewhere between AU-58 and MS-62. I think that see some rub on the reverse, which would make less than Mint State.
I see very light rub on both sides. My opinion is AU 58 based on the less than optimum photos. This coin obviously is best graded in hand. Would not be surprised if TPGs the coin between 55 & 62.
Just received this (haven't had a chance to take it home, so I'm photographing it in the 2x2 it came in. It looks better in person than the listing photographs led me to expect.
Is the field chatter on this going to knock it into an AU grade? Or is wear on the design elements more important for this series?
