Wonderful coins for great value, @Curtisimo ! I like the Qin and the Thessaly. Take ‘em both!

And, wow! Congrats, @Sallent for solving a cool mystery! Big fun to chase things down to find answers. This is a wonderful site, sharing a lot of great info.

This is pretty much a perfect summation of the way I approach my collection. Well said.

I hope you win your targets. Can’t wait to see your $1 - $100 list!

What are you waiting on my friend. You can see from the thread that the cost of entry is less than $10... the dark side will always triumph. Why resist? ;)

I simply love your Faustina Collection RC. I also have a soft spot for this empress and I can guarantee that there will be many more of her coins taking up residence in my collection.

Great temple coins here. I also have the DEDICATIO AEDIS but lack the PIETAS.

Here is my example. It’s one of my favorites.

Thanks Bing. The Krannon was really fun to study for the write up and thanks to @TIF I also found some additional info in BCDs catalog on it.

    Thanks Pman!

Great idea to do this and as others have said, lovely photo’s.
I would pick the Diva Faustina as my favourite due to the underlying (sad) story as it exemplifies everything in a coin.....The history and ongoing provenance. Beautiful words.
    Thank you for sharing.

I think the Thessaly and the Commodus were both great value buys and among my favorites of the year by any measure. Thanks Z!

I can’t wait to see what your value bracket list holds. They are always a pleasure to read.

Great coin @Alegandron . Now I know to look for the ones that are closer to 8 g like yours to check the box for Qin Dynasty. Should make a great companion piece for my OP :)

    Thanks Limes!

I agree. There is definitely a human element to the coins of Faustina that make them more interesting. Knowing the story also makes A. Pius and Faustina more relatable and not just bland historical figures.

Also, thanks for the kind words :)

Great coins for great prices! I really like that Thessaly coin for that price, I almost bid on it myself ;)
That Commodus Sestertius is a very nice and hefty coin, I do not really collect Roman but such a coin I would love to have in my collection.

I feel naughty for picking the most expensive one, but I love the Commodus and would have expected it to cost more than that by a fair amount. I would have grabbed that in a heart beat.
