I have never seen such a Beautiful nickle before this one here. Seems magical in its own way.

    You may want to consider setting it aside for a unique coin series/collection. I've been setting aside 'dark' nickels with a kind of cameo appearance to build a set of the Jefferson series. It's mostly from the environmental arena.

    @Barbia, welcome to CT! I notice you use this coin as your avatar. Is there a special story attached?...like how, or from whom you acquired it? The beauty of this hobby is that we all get to determine our own personal preferences.

    That said, I don't think you have seen enough Jeff. nickels. This one (1988) is a young pup, yet has seen it's share of environmental exposure. That's not to say it's bad...I like experienced coins like this. In 1988 I bought my first Corvette...that's as magical as it is for me.

    Keep up the hunt, because if you like this one, you're really in store for some incredible experiences! :happy:;)
