This morning I acquired a Confederate States of America One Dollar Bill in very, very great condition. Across the Top Left Richmond Top Right Feb. 17th 1864. Crisp and all corners intact. Any info would be appreciated as I know nothing about these. I could not turn down the deal though. Free gotta love those grandmothers. :eek:hya:
    Thanks,
    Troy

    Update with photo

YOu can see a small crease on the right side, but you can not see on the reverse.

Someone will correct me if I am wrong (as I have been known to be on a regular basis):

However, I believe that bill is a reproduction that is sold in novelty stores, or at souvenier shops at historical sites.

How can I tell if it is fake or replicated. Size, key info or what?
    Thanks,

It looks like it was printed on parchment, which I believe is a dead giveaway.
Also, look for "facsimilie" somewhere on the piece.

Also, is there any printing on the back?

Genuine CSA $1 notes are somewhat scarce in the higher grades and should fetch significantly more than their face value. But first you must determine authenticity. What is the serial no.? Compare it to the list of known fakes:
