Behold! My bucket list #1 coin has finally been obtained. Fugio cent, and a rare variety at that! The details are sharp and the coin is attractive, even for a details grade! SO Happy with this one.

I love the history behind this coin, designed by Benjamin Franklin himself, it holds 13 chain links one for each original colony. Inside the circle it says we are one. A remarkable coin and a unbelievable piece of American history. I am a very very proud owner!

Nice. A good honest example. A coin I’ve always liked myself

Cool coin! Hard to find a well used example without some environmental effects, just
    honest use as Bill said.

This was an affordable example, I think I got a very solid price too. From a fellow NH resident!

Neat piece of early American history. Great to see you've finally acquired something so high on your BL. Congrats.

Yeah, My next coin is a flowing hair half dime! That is going to take a LOT longer then this one did.

For those who know me in this forum I like authenticity challenged coins...
To that end my only "Fugio" is a so called "New Haven Restrike". Not an original and not a true restrike it is still an interesting piece of history. Mine is odd in that it is worn to VG level...

@AdamsCollection I see the corrosion, What Colonial copper coin
doesn't have some, but I don't see the scratch. Overall, A very nice
coin that I would enjoy owning. nice pick up.

The scratch is small, its on the obverse on the sun dial, really insignificant and does not take away anything form this coin to me! The corrosion is very expected, Im not after mint state examples anyways!

Personally I think they were rather harsh on that coin. To me it almost looks more like planchet issues than true corrosion. Personally I’d crack that one and enjoy it raw

Nice. I don’t have one of those myself. I have a dollar and half but not a half dime

Nice coin, despite what the holder says. Every US collection should have a Fugio in it for reasons you state. It's on my list of 5 "required" coins. Enjoy!

If they did then we couldn't afford them. They only made between 300 and 400K of them and most of those have been lost over the years to wear, loss, or being melted down for the copper in them. (After the copper panic of 1790 they were worth more as metal than as money.) If every US collector wanted one there wouldn't be close to enough to go around.

I'm a huge fan of Fugios, although I haven't gotten one myself yet. It is high on my want list!
