Nice coins all. Very interesting mix, but my favorite is the Athenian Owl without a doubt!

Great coins!...I really like the reverse on the Valerian, nice big coin and a lovely patina...

Exceptional coins! My compliments to your great additions. Don't hid the VISA/ check book....you are buying real money, not the nonsense we have today/ plastic/ paper/ bitcoin;) Precious metal money was the real McCoy.

Some real quality there Al. When I think of an Owl Tet, that's what I think of. I love the Valerian too, stunning.

Good point John ;)! Ironically our circulating money is following the same path Roman imperial money did :(, the longer you hold it the less it's worth...

James, That coin is probably the most artistic of the 5 :). It feels like real money in your hand .

All fantastic coins! My three favourites are the owl (that obverse!! :wideyed:), the Theoderic, and the Anazarbus, in that order.

Ancient Aussie, Years ago barbarian gold had few collectors & good coins were very reasonable, today is a different story. That will probably be my last barbarian solidus.

Spaniard, Provincial bronze coins never held a big interest for me but that coin pulled me in like a magnet . It's a great coin to put in your hand & gaze at :wideyed:.

Beautiful coins Al Kowsky! I wonder though, how many coins did you get this year? And how to narrow it down to 5... For me, impossible...!

Limes, I could have posted many more coins, especially billon Provincial tets, but narrowed it down to the 5 that impressed me the most aesthetically. I went crazy buying coins this year :wacky:, that's another reason I want to put the brakes on next year :stop:. I've got a lot of modern medals & coins to liquidate next year, material I don't look at anymore :meh:. If successful I may throw some more money at ancient coins .

Charming coins, improving every year. I tend towards the golden steps and the 3 Emperors. Cheers.

It sounds like you had a big year, Al-- and I love your diverse favorites! The Athens tet is outstanding; Otacilia's portrait unparalleled; the Valerian well centered on a generous flan; the Ostrogoth beautiful, and the Byzantine crisp. Nice!!

Wow! 5 top notch coins. My favorite is the Valerian. I was planning to post my best purchases of 2019, but after seeing these beauties, I think I’ll wait until next year ....
