Well, I went to a coin show, with AZ Jack. We got there around 9:20, because we thought it opened at 9:00. only to find that it didnt open until 11! So after a stop to the post office and breakfast, we went back. I picked up 3 War Nickels for 1$ each that I still needed for my folder, as well as a 1899 Half (AG) for 7$ and a 1899-O Morgan for $15.50 (for my Circulated 1899 Set ) I also found a 1933-S Walking Liberty in one of the bargain bins for 5$. Jack can tell you about the WL he found in the 1$ bin! a 1919-S! (probably AG-G) I also got a few Indian heads and such from Jack. Good day I'd say!
Yep, Had a good time. The show was OK, not great, but better than our little monthly's, I will do a complete report for the next W.I.N.S. newsletter. I was able to find some nicer Lincolns for some want list's I had, and like Mike said, I yanked a 1919-S Walker from a $1 bargain bin !! I picked up a 6000 count bag of pre-40 wheats to help me with my roll sets, we'll see how that goes. Mag went to work on the wheats after running them thru my counting machine, and I have the wife working on them now, my eyes need a break. I picked up an Australia Large Cent with a Kangaroo on it for my wifes wildlife collection. Mag and I both got some free software at a booth, Numismaster coin collection manager, I will load it one day and seehow it compares to my CoinManage, I'll post that on the coin software thread when I get around to it. There was a lady with a table of all Ronald Reagan memorabelia, and I forgot to pick up a few things for my collection, I have to go back tommorow and hope the goodies are not picked over. She had quite a bit of neat stuff I have not seen before. Just waking up from a long nap, dang kids, they wear me out !!
haha no kidding! by the way, this loupe is nice! its helped already! (1929 merc dime, the 9 was meshed in with the rim, the loupe helped me see what it was, lol)
I went to the show today and got some great coins at great prices. One I am unsure of though. A dime with no obverse. Not sure if it is an error or someone ground it off. Got apx 20 BU pre 64 quarters for $2 each.
I went back today as well. You got BU silver at 8X face, thats enough to get you arrested, lol. Nice pick-up !! I noticed today the collectors were out in force, it was great seeing them at the tables going thru the row boxes and the page binders with want lists out, very healthy for the hobby. I came home with a bunch of nice stuff today, I'll get pics up maybe later.
I am looking forward to getting to a show. I've been out of the loop for a while, can't wait to get back in the swing. :thumb:
