Ive found a silver 6 pence piece 4 silver quarters, 2 mercs, and 3 rosies and a ton of dirty ass pennies at my local coin start once was a great find Also 3 foriegns.
Been striking out a lot lately after a number of VERY good years. I believe all my local machines have been upgraded to tell the customer to check the slot. Once in a while I will pull something off the grill. (Upper left hand inside corner is a honey hole.) So when I got 36 cents today and a Peter Piper Pizza token, I felt like Diamond Jim Brady. The quarter was a nice Chaco Culture. I keep the Acadia, El Yunque and Chaco Culture ATB quarters as they have the lowest mintage. (Not including S minted).
9 brownies in the slot. I probably have pulled about 10 of those fake plastic play money coins. I think my miracle run is over. They are killing my game.
I'll post a photo later. I got a heaping handful of coins from the coin star today! It was a nice haul! There were probably about $10 in caribbean and Trinidad & Tobago coins, some asian coins, about $3.5 Euro ( Beer for me when i hop back over the pond!) and about $4 canadian (Beer for me when I head back up there!), about 50 cents US and a nice 1964 silver dime to end it all!
Reminds me of a load I found in a Vegas CoinStar, all US except one Canadian quarter and $8.12 or so...a handful +
Great haul! I especially like the Trinidad & Tobago coins as my mother was born in Trinidad. The hold a prominent place in my Foreign Coin Album.
Silver dime on the grill 1954-D. My camera is fried. There was a quarter, a Canadian nickel and the silver dime. I have pulled over 30 Rosies and 2 Mercs, and I have found some on the shelf, on the floor, under the front lip on the floor (and the slot) but I think this is my first silver on the grill. And my first silver in 4 months. Here's a phone photo:
Could it be? Is it possible? Has my luck turned a corner? This was my CoinStar reject find today: 5-Dominican Republic 5 pesos 1- Dominican Republic 10 pesos 1- Dominican Republic 10 centavos 1- Republic of Haiti 5 Gourdes 1- Barbados 25 cents 1- Canada 10 cents 1- Canada 1 cent 1- Republic of Trinidad and Tobago 1 cent 1- Netherland Antilles 5 cent 1- Mexican $2 2-US Lincoln cents 1-US 1957P Roosevelt dime silver 1-US 1955P Washington quarter silver 3- batting cage tokens
My latest CoinStar finds. Found these and a couple of Zincolns, a Canadian nickel that was damaged and a car wash token.
CoinStar has been very slow lately—a few foreigns, nothing exotic. But today I broke my silver drought with a nice clean '64 Rosie.
Very slim pickings lately. Last find about two months ago, a worn 1961 D Rosie dime. Before that earlier this year a badly corroded 1979 Lincoln penny.
Just one lousy elephant car wash token yesterday. Slim pickings at the two CoinStar machines I frequent this holiday season. Everyone must be double checking the reject hoppers. Reed.
