Hey.. At least they offer 10% off if you purchase 3 lots! I hope nobody would be dumb enough to purchase even 1 lot
When you see bad photos, don’t go any further. Forget about the offering. Bad pictures are almost always for the seller’s benefit. Usually he’s selling damaged stuff or, more often, counterfeits.
My belief as an eBay buyer is to only purchase from dealers that offer free returns and have 100% seller feedback rating.
You’re missing out on some solid sellers with your free return demand. When I sell, the buyer has to pay return shipping. I and other sellers aren’t interested in running a coin approval service.
I gave up reporting crooked sellers selling fake coins. Ebay did nothing. I hope they do something with this seller but there are many more like him. This seller in question lives close to me in Northern Calif. I also noticed he charges $50. for shipping on some things. People are buying, he should be sold out in a day or two.
Reported. Thank you for bringing it up. It's really sad. And it's frustrating because it's like Whack-A-Mole. If eBay shuts him down he will just open a new eBay seller profile or use one of the other dozen eBay profiles he has from when he was selling knock offs of some other product. This is Chinese Theft of Intellectual & Property Rights. They're flooding the whole world with knock offs of every type of product you can imagine under the sun. And now that the relatively new U.S. Tariffs are hurting many Chinese factories and Chinese sellers, they just keep knocking off more and more proprietary goods to make up for their losses. And it's all done under the eye of and with the approval of the Chinese Government! Very upsetting across the board and in every market, not only coins.
Often it's difficult to tell if a coin has been cleaned by a photograph. I don't like having to pay return shipping on an inferior product.
You nailed it. And our own government has been complicit with China's predatory and parasitic business practices for years. Our country is finely waking up to it.
I don't know that the U.S. has been complicit. We've tried to get them to stop via diplomatic means. But the Chinese Gov't is used to doing what it pleases and doesn't take instruction from anyone, not even its own citizens. It's not a Democracy, there is no freedom of speech and the Chinese are jailed for speaking against their government. With the Tariffs now in full swing it's hurting us a lot over here. I don't know about you but I've been seeing prices jump up in leaps and bounds. 25% is a lot of extra money to pay for stuff. In many ways it's a steep price we're paying in this fight and China isn't backing down even though it's hurting them more. It doesn't help me much knowing that the Chinese are having a harder time with it than we are. It hurt me and my pocket when the prices went up and I have to buy fewer toys for holiday gifts. I know it's not a tragedy, but I'm just saying that there is no easy solution to the Chinese knock-off and counterfeiting problem because the Chinese Gov't doesn't play fair and doesn't have to. But we should probably stop this conversation as it can easily touch on politics and we want to stay away from that.
I want nothing to do with gold Pandas or any other new Chinese coin. Given the Chinese attitude toward their counterfeiters, I will not buy their coins PERIOD.
The bad guys on ebay are hurting the honest dealers. Buyers are having a tough time knowing who to trust. I'm sure ebay is having a tough time trying to control things. They don't even know who to trust. I'll bet they get a lot of listings reported. They can't figure out what reports are true or false.
