Definitely plated. My guess is with mercury. And, yes, it is worth something. It is a copper Lincoln so it is worth 2¢ or 3¢ if you are lucky.
The 36-S is damaged and has been cleaned. The "steel" 1936 are plated as there were no steel planchets before 1943. LONG LIVE THE NECRO THREAD! YAY!
