1938 cent... "woodie" or damage

Is this a woodie for a flip, or toss back into circulation?

I'd say improperly mixed alloy aka Woodie!

Toss back into circulation? You could, I wouldn't.

 

I thought the grainy appearance of a Woodie is much finer. This looks too coarse.

It's a worn woody. Not worth anything. Throw it in a jar.

 

I think it's cool so throw it in the cool jar

 

I've seen and own several woodies. Sometimes it's coarse sometimes it is fine. Sometimes they are just plain weird like my 1916 below. Wear can affect the look of wood grain as well.

Very fine grain on the obverse. Rougher grain at the top of the reverse. And rough chunky grain on the central reverse.
