It looks like die deterioration doubling (DDD) to me. However, even if it had been true hub doubling that wouldn't mean that it would be worth submitting for authentication and grading. Most doubled dies aren't worth the costs, but you have to take into consideration the condition of both sides of the coin. Just from your partial image of the reverse, I can see a gouge across "NIT" and reeding marks on the lower inside of the wing. Chris
Hey sorry to be posting in the wrong thread, but I just became a member and have not yet received authentication to start new threads(and patience is not my strong suit lol). I was curious if you might be able to help me identify a few errors on a 1983 penny I recently came across? If so I’d be more than happy to post pictures, and elaborate on the coins details! Again sorry for the somewhat out of place post, but if you’d be willing to help I’d greatly appreciate it!
You need to start your own thread, with pics. Dem's the 'rules' (hijacking threads are not appreciated).
Welcome to the neighborhood! Yeah, I believe your membership must be confirmed. Perhaps Doug aka @GDJMSP can check on it for you. Chris
