Picked this up of ewwbay for $90 shipped. Don't know if this is a good price as I didn't see any like this in the "sold" listings. It is tiny at 1/20th but hey I gotta start some where. These are the sellers photos, I just cropped em. down a little. What do ya think? I can't wait to see it in hand now!!. Love the owl on her knee.
Very cool. I really like these. This is one that I picked up a couple of years ago. It is the 1/10th-ounce version. I paid about the same price per ounce as you did.
Beautiful coin. And the reverse is certainly a cool design. Although I've restricted myself to the occasional, say, pre-1940 gold, seeing this coin makes me want to have one.
Thanks all! I have been looking for a gold coin to add to my collection for a while now. The 1945 Mexico 2 1/2 Pesos was another choice I had, but there are ALOT of those out there. I wanted one that was a little less common. This one being a great design, low mintage (Just under 2500 minted), A UCAM Proof, and graded hit all the buttons for me and screamed buy me. I am very excited and proud to own one of these. Thanks again for all the kind replies and Happy Thanksgiving all!
It's a nice coin. I think you will be surprised how small it is though. I have a 1/20 ounce Canadian coin and it's minuscule.
At 12mm and 1.58 grams it is just slightly larger than a Panama Pill. I have several of these, so am pretty familiar with the size and yes they are minuscule.
Cool design. If you're going to get a pricey composition, I agree that high grade and limited mintage are superior attributes to pick.
Congratulations! You will never regret that first AV coin. Beautifully designed and great quality. Here is my first gold coin. Now, I have added 900 more! AV Histamenon ND Constantinople Mint Constantine IX Byzntine Empire NFA Auction 1983
Thank you panzerman I always love seeing the coins you post. Most of the time I just sit there with my jaw dropped. The coin above is no exception. You have a gorgeous collection anyone would be proud of.
It arrived today safe and sound. What a little beauty! I wish my Canon camera was working so I could take a close up.
