I cannot take it anymore. I did NOT want to post this and keep resisting doing it. Ive researched this and found absolutely nothing. I seen some "ears" that double quite drastically but nothing like this which tells me it has to just be chance blistering or whatever. Just to be sure, what do you think?

I think its the angles inside the second ear that intrigue me. Is a second ear like this even a possibility? I cant even think of a step in the minting that could cause this. I just want to rule it out and 2x2 away.

Die Abrasion IMHO. That would cause weird effects when striking a blank. Put in a 2x2 if you want.

I noticed that it looked like "abrasion" of some sort across his face. Thanks Paddy. That settles my imagination and puts me at ease. I just couldnt figure out how such a nice second ear would magically appear.....its because it isnt! This was in a mint set I just got so I was pretty sure it wasnt some odd PMD.
