    I bought these two coins today...
    Domitian denarius and Gallienus,Nikaea, countermarked, 5.5o gr

    Eventually found the Gallienus....
    Gallienus, AE 26 of Nicaea, Bithynia. ΠOYB ΛIK EΓN ΓAΛΛHNOC AVΓ, radiate, draped bust right / AΓΩNEC IEΡOI, NIKAIE-ΩN (in ex.), three agonistic urns with palms on a base inscribed ΠYΘIA. RecGen 853.Ref wildwinds (Thankyou)
    I have no idea about c/marks ...Do you have any ideas?

    Nice coins and it proves once in awhile you have to get coins like all the rest of us regular folks on the Forum do who do not have access to the Elysian Fields studded with great coin finds...

    Ha ha..Im collector of countermarked coins, but when an acquaintance offered me this Domitian denarius for 20 dollars, I couldn't say no..

    @dougsmit....Really like the V-G-V.....I was actually looking at one over on vcoins yesterday and nearly went for it but the VII portrait was blown away so decided to wait for a better specimen...Glad I did after seeing yours, very nice!..Looks to have a nice patina too..
