Capcracker it is most likely a star note. A star note replaces a regular printing or engraving run note that was damaged in the printing or cutting process.

It should be worth a good deal because 1) its a $2, 2) its a star note, and 3) the extremely low serial number

The low serial is not what you may think. Replacement notes have their own serial sequence different from regular print runs.
The condition of your star note is more important to to value and $2s are not rare or scarce in uncirculated grades because they aren't used in commerce but saved as oddities.

Thanks for the 3 replies thus far.Interesting infomation. How about the value of a set of notes. Both notes are exact in every way.The only differance is the date. One note is 1976,the other is 2003.Both are perfict gems,un-un.Both have serial # A00000368*.Both were issued from the same bank.

I dont know how much they are worth, but the '76 one, if in the same condition as the '03 one should be worth more, because its older.

Gapcracker, the Boston district of the federal reseve bank system does seem to issue large numbers of replacement notes.
There are more differences that you have not noticed such as different signatures, plate numbers, check letters and plate position letters.
This pair of notes would be very nice to see displayed together but as to value, only an auction will tell what someone is willing to pay for them.
