If the local coin shop offers you anything over $20 it’s likely legit. Don’t take your first offer if he thinks it’s legit.

Thank you for the kind response.. I am a novice at this I inherited some coins from my grandmother last year so I bought a coin price guide to check the coins. Since then it became my somewhat hobby.. By the way can you tell me what you think about this Washington quarter..I can't tell what date it is but it weighs 5.6 grams
Finally someone answered my question!!. Then let's say that it turned out to be genuine what should I do after?. I know it's not in great condition due to it being circulated, do I get it professionally cleaned?

Your quarter is damaged, worth 25 cents ...and don’t clean any coins.

Send it to a TPG like PCGS and get it attributed and graded. Do not clean it!!!

Thank you another question. In your honest opinion what is the value of it?. And is it worth sending to be graded ?. I was reading the information about coin grading and i found it to be confusing .. i dont know which one to pick many different levels

Value is hard to tell. It really depends on the grade it gets. If it turns out to be real, imo yes this coin is worth getting graded. If real and you want to sell in the future it will be MUCH easier to do so it if it is in a TPG slab.

Here is a link to the PCGS coin facts page on this variety.

Mr. Montcollector I really appreciate the courteous and honest responses. The 1992 coin presented at the link you provided above appears to be identical to the one I have. So does that mean even without D mint mark, the coin is also valuable?

Your coin won’t grade as high as the coin in the link. But it is in nice condition only with a distracting stain on the obverse. That may be exacerbated by your picture taking. Cleaning a coin will devalue the coin considerably essentially ruining the coin. As folks have stated here, do not clean the coin. Depending how it grades will determine overall value potential. But I would suspect collectors will find the stain distracting so expect to take a little off for that. Still, your coin is likely worth a few hundred dollars. Better pictures would help members grade and estimate value. Treat it like a $1500 coin. Wear gloves and keep it away from other coins and things that could scratch/damage your coin. Until you know what you have treat it like gold...or better.

Looks like the bottom corner of the A has some displaced metal making it closer to the M ... not sure tho, the pics are kinda grainy. But nobody else has mentioned it so maybe it's just my eyes..

Are we talking about the OP's coin? That definitely does NOT look like a close AM IMHO, and my optometrist has corrected my vision to 20/20.
