We are all getting old. Can I us that as my excuse? I can recall thinking as a kid what it must be like to pass 65. Now I know.
Boo, Dallas lost. We need a new coach. OK, Here is solid black and with 75% fade to reveal some of the wood. and solid Red(I think, remember I am color blind) and 75% fade. I removed embossing effect from font and used a Gold foil overlay. BTW, the Gold foil effect is a trick that I would be happy to share with anyone using Photoshop. It's not difficult but it does take a few steps to do. Solid Black Black with 75% fade Solid Red Red with 75% fade I think I like the solid Black. Wonder what it would look like with fake Capital Plastic screws.
I have the Air-Tite pages that fit the 20 Centavos, which are already in Air-Tites. The pages are clear so I would have to make an overlay and cut out. The overlay is doable , but cutting out the holes, cripes!!. I think I can figure it out but that's a lot of precision cutting.
Dallas 6 points behind, less than 10 minutes left, 4th and 7 on the Pats 17 and Garrett elects to kick a field goal!!! Against the Pats defense he thinks we are going to stop there offense, get the ball back and score a TD to win. What a dufus. Too conservative. Try for the first down or TD. If you succeed you have a chance to win. If you fail, you can still try and stop the Pats and score.
I think Garrett made the right call. The Pats were shutting Dallas down on most of their 3rd downs and Amari Cooper was held without a single catch. Their best bet was to force the Pats into a 3 & out, which they were capable of doing, and try for another score. It's easy for us to second-guess them. You know what they say about free advice. Chris
True, but I have watched every Dallas game this year. This will be the 3rd time Garret choked on goal line situations and we ended up losing winnable games. He will not be back next year. Dallas has one of the most talented teams in the league but they need a new coach. Remember we lost to the Jets!!
The black looks good. The original concept of the the woodgrain background with the "embossed" lettering was a good idea in theory, but didn't quite work ideally in practice. (It looked good, but the darker background without the font effect looks better.)
I missed the whole topic. Nice improvement! I'm a sucker for mintage figures but I agree that design 1 is a bit too cluttered and busy. Darker background contrast well with bright red coins. Otherwise experiment with pastel or cream colour. I am slightly bothered that the spacing is a bit too far top. I reckon the title can be a bit bigger and the coins and text be brought a tad down. But again it's my opinion.
H, you are right, I left too much dead space on the bottom. I took your advice and made the title larger and eliminated the dead space on the bottom. Looks better, thanks.
I'm late to the thread...as as a minor dissent, I think the black with 75% over the wood grain is a great look. But, black with the screws really does look like a Capital plastic set which is cool.
If anyone one is interested in me doing up one of these using your coins, send me a pm. No cost, just for fun, for now. I'll limit the offer for the first 5 responders. All I ask is to be reasonable with request and allow me to post results. U.S. or World coins. I'll have to think about ancients, they aren't always round.
