I have a High AU 1883-No Cents nickle . It has some sort of crud or dirt on the obverse . Will acetone hurt nickle or would there be a better way to try & get it off . Any help apreciated .:smile:hatch::hammer::kewl:
    Thanks rzage

I'd give it a good soak in distilled water first. Chemicals should be avoided whenever possible.

heat some distilled water hot, hot, hot without boiling and rinse your coin in it, should loosen most surface crud.
