i found this 1969 D $1 Chicago FRN at work today. the front looks pretty normal. on the back is another story. it kinda looks like it has been washed out but i would think the front would be in similar shape. does anyone know what it could be. possible printing error?? thanks
hmmm that is very interesting...i don't know and couldn't help you sorry. but im gonna stick around cause i would like to hear other peoples opioin on this one aswell:whistle:
What ever did it, there was a great deal of control involved. It ver well could have been a roller cleaning and as the solvents thinned the ink a note could have been printed without proper inking. I would suggest you seek a Dealer that might be able to help. It could be a neat error! RickieB
I have gotten dollar bills back in pockets of slacks that went through the dry cleaners with the same results for the back. Something in the cleaning agents bleaches the blue inks out of the inks on the reverse of the note.
RIGHT ON THE MONEY! This is not a BEP error, it has been through the wash and exposed either to a bleach or amonia based cleaner. This is not a guess here folks, merely fact! sorry the news is not better:headbang:
still finding a series 1969 in circulation?! Wow, the oldest thing I've come across in the the last 9 months is a series 1985
bqcoins, earlier in the week, i went to the bank, and in the $200 1's i bought was a 1969 star note i think folks are speninding notes that they have kept for decades, and spending them to help stretch their budget. its too bad too, but it is happening, and can lead to great finds for searchers.
I can tell you that seems to be happening, otherwise I would not have so many 1934 and 1950 Series $50's and $100's lately.
