I have KUDO's for e-Bay tonight. I've made a lot of purchases the last 2 months mainly for 2006 OLD MINT $5 Uncirculated gold coins. I recently received in my e-Bay messages a coupon for 10% off. I used it tonight for another Old Mint gold uncirculated coin. I usually manually snipe at these auctions winning bidder or not. I bid in the last second and won the coin. Final price was $215.61 under the current gold price of $905.05 per troy oz on the open world market at that time. The gold value at that price is $219.04. With the 10% coupon via PayPal checkout the total came to $194.05. Not bad for .2419 troy oz of gold. The coin was also graded by ICG, an additional item I feel I got for free. And since I didn't get it from the U.S. Mint, I didn't have to pay the original price of $245.00 So thank you e-Bay! I had planned on using the coupon for a GRE PRS-500 digital scanner, but I got a 30% off "all Radio Shack branded items" coupon at Radio Shack and purchased their PRO-96 digital and several accessories instead. I got one of those coupons in the mail, and tried to use it for a purchase last week and it was NO good. So it went to file 13 just like everything else from fleaBay.
They work. E-bay is trying to do a lot more incentive thingys. I have two accounts and my son has one. One one of my accounts, e-bay is giving me 3% back on every purchase until August 14 AND as a special deal, I will get 9% back on anything I buy before June 30. But that is only for one of three accounts that I know about. But I've read news releases where they will be doing this more and more.
