Low but not low enough to be desirable.. Usually 3 numbers are sought after IMHO

The realm of low SN's starts with 3 digits. But keep up the search. They're out there, just not easy to find in the wild.

Low but not low enough. Ideally 100 or less.
But anything 999 or lower is probably EBay worthy. Although the number 1000 would have 7 zeroes. 00001000.
I can't bring myself to spend these. I like the one with 6 zeroes even though it is higher.

This was my lowest. For a dollar it's good enough to keep.

My social media post today (on Instagram, facebook & Twitter) were 3 digit serial numbers I recently acquired. Screenshot below...

Nice finds! I think they are low enough to keep. From a retail standpoint, it isn't worth selling them, though.

Low enough for a beginning but to high to grab my interest. Welcome to CT.

I like low SN's, and try and get them on some of my bills but they do drive the price up alot (50-300% for a <999 number).

Still, compared to star notes, I think it's worth it. I don't get the fascination with star notes compared to low SNs -- if I have SN 100 there is only 1 of that bill and only 99 lower. A star bill might have hundreds or thousands or tens of thousands of brothers and sisters.

Some Low SN's are super-expensive...depends on how expensive the underlying bill is (Gold or Silver Certificate or LGS vs. bill in last few years).....condition (PMG 65 or higher vs. 50's vs. even lower grades).....uniqueness.

A regular $1 bill from the last few years with a SN < 10 can cost $500-$1,000. :wideyed:

I got beat out this week on a low SN (#...10) for a Silver Certificate from a 1928 series, I think. Blue Seal. I went over the top of the estimated range and finally blinked.

Wondering if I should have gone higher.........:banghead:

Lower serial #'s than my whole collection, but not enough to really value them much above face, also if they're a newer year generally and if they've been folded that lessens their value.

I just started looking again for interesting numbers....and I have been watching different videos on the Bills, ladders, flip-flops... And some say ladders do not necessarily have to be in order to be worth anything... As long as they're there and even one number could be missing or whatever... But I guess some people will buy anything off eBay.... But I also seen where a guy sold a bill. For. HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR A LOW SERIAL NUMBER EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A FOUR DIGIT... I DONT THINK ANYTHING ELSE WAS SPECIAL ABAOUT IT EITHER... COULD HAVE BEEN A STAR.NOTE. MAYBE...BUT DONT THINK IT WAS... Now I held onto this $20 just because... Reminder to keep looking and get lower!! LoL... Forgot what I liked about the $5.... Something off I giess
