I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, but the first post explains how those with less than 200 posts can possibly participate.

Definitely not sarcastic. I was poking fun at myself for not reading the whole thing! I actually appreciate you pointing out what I skipped over :)

"Looks like we are already spreading the joy! Some of you should be expecting packages soon. If for some reason, you get a package you weren't expecting and want to confirm it's your Secret Santa gift, please message me privately and I'll help you out.

Note: if you're going to post your parcels here, pre-opening, please blot out both ALL of the address information (names included) for both the To and From spots.

P.S. If you want to join our Secret Santa, please read the first post in this thread. For those with less than 200 posts, there's still a possibility you can join, just read the message!"

    Expecting packages already...DANG...what an optimist!!!

I've already got tracking numbers for some gifts going out. I was surprised myself!

Looks like there are a few new participants in the Secret Santa this year. It probably does not need stated, but I will throw out a couple ideas on the subject.
It is the thought of the gift you receive that counts.
Everyone participating does not have deep pockets and the gift you receive might not exactly fit into your collection. Even if you are not ecstatic about the gift, the giver should be acknowledged and thanked for their generosity. Remember it is better to give than receive. My thought's probably did not need stated, but wanted to share. I hope everyone enjoys the process of the SS and a big thanks needs given to @Seattlite86 for his time and effort facilitating the project.

    Hey Folks,

I just sent out another batch of names. If you've sent me a note that said you're an international shipper, then I'm holding your names in case more of our international members wishing to join. I'm going to have to cut off international names by November 30th, to ensure there's enough time for the gifts to arrive.

Gave the wife my Secret Santa gift to mail and as an afterthought wondered if my name should have been included in the return address? Or, do recipients receive a message with the senders name?
Edit: possibly I could send the recipient a PM saying I was the donor?

    Well said.

I stress a lot about the gift I will send. I am such a newbie "collector" and I wonder whether the recipient will like it or hate it ... sneer at it or hug it ... smile at it or toss it aside. Oh! The aaagonyyy of gift giving.

Okay, I am being just a tad melodramatic (but not much).

It's intended to be anonymous, so the recipient doesn't know who sent it. Their thank you is posting the gift back here and showing gratitude. Normally, I just put "Secret Santa" on my gifts, except for the times I was overseas and had to use my legal name. Otherwise, the idea is that your recipient doesn't know where it came from, but just from a benevolent CT member. Cheers.

This is one of the reasons I don't dare participate in the "Secret Saturnalia", I just don't know enough about ancients.

I just sent in my address via PM - here's my secret santa gift, all wrapped up and ready to go - all I need is somebody's address & away it goes!

Heck of a way to package a Saint Gaudens.
Edit: Nice touch with the duct tape.
