I found one of these quarters in an uncirculated box when it first came out and then just now came across another with the exact same error. I haven't seen it anywhere else so is this a known error for this coin? Thanks to all, this community is the best!
Really difficult to tell much from your photos. Can you post FULL SIZE photos that are cropped to just the coin and then a close up of the area you would like opinions on? Welcome to CT BTW.
It looks like a strikethrough, but it's unusual to have more than one unless the foreign matter stuck to the die. Chris
@cpm9ball Thank you for the comment I thought it was just a one off coin but was confused when I found a second one with such a distinct mark
If you've found two or more, I'd take a guess (from the one photo only) that it might be Feeder Finger Damage. More photos are needed.
@Fred Weinberg Thank you I'll be honest I never heard that term before so I'm not sure. I will take some better pictures and post
@Mike185 Thank you for the welcome! it looks like I have to get into the rhythm of knowing what kind of photos are good I hope the new one has better detail
The photo is better but it would help if it was full frame cropped to maximum size instead of a thumbnail. Looks like a strike through but it could be a planchet flaw.
