We all may have spent a little too much on an e-bay coin. I have noticed that ebay error coins in many cases sell for much higher values then they are worth. Slabbed error coins go even higher. Why is this so? Any Thoughts?
I agree with Spotco2....but then I've gotten some really great deals on error coins as well. Off centers, broadstruck, blank planchtes.....struck through grease (Proof), and also where I got my 1941-S Nickel with the Inverted MM. Deals are few and far between---keep your eyes open and just sometimes the uneducated buyers miss a BIG one! Speedy
Then you have the two or three educated buyers who get fixated on a single coin LOL Have any of you guy's been to a live auction, it can be quite a eye opener at times, specialy when people get auction fever and evilbay is no different in that respaect common sence goes out of the window
People do get "auction fever". It's great if you're the seller. I've had items go for way too much in the past. I usually will send the winner a bonus coin and explain that they paid too much. Customers appreciate the honesty and remember the coin which makes them remember you as well. clembo
