    Question for you folks.
    That Oregon Trail Commemorative Half is a nice looking coin.

    How much do they typically go for?

    edit: and what about the Jamestown Dollar?

    At a coin show last month I bought a very nice 1926 Oregon Trail for $170. The dealer graded it at MS-63. It is very PQ for a 63 and may be a 64.

    Grey Sheet ASK on Oregon Trail Type halves is:

    XF = $112
    AU = $120
    MS-60 = $147
    MS-63 = $155
    MS-64 = $168
    MS-65 = $275

    Jamestown Dollar ASK is $33 for both MS & Proof.

    I tried to buy one of these in a nice 63 at LB for my type set, all we saw were 65,66,67 and big pricetags

    Somebody paid way too much for that ebay coin. That is MS65 money and that coin is no where near MS65.

    I have my eye on a texas commemorative on ebay at the moment.

    If you want a cheap and sexy half dollar commemorative why not try the stone mountain half dollar.

    This sells at below $100 for MS66!!!!

    The texas and oregon halves are more popular and sell for 3 times that!

    From the looks of that message, I'd quit watching that coin.

    That is ebay for ya! Makes no sense why people do that. I have to say I did that when I first started buying things on ebay, but now try to keep my bids well below list and hope for the best. If I don't win, then I didn't need it. Joe

    I've been searching for a nicely toned Oregon Trail for quite a long time. It seems that all there ever is available online is blast white. I'm particularly fond of those that are tab-toned.

    Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't James Earle Fraser and Laura Gardin Fraser collaborate on the design of the Oregon Trail?

    The only difference I can see between my 62 and other higher grades is the luster , where mine has a good strike no hits , but hardly any luster .

    Her husband was her mentor, she studied under his tutelage. They were both great sculptors that lead to fantastic coin designs, sadly a now lost art for coinage.

    The Oregon Trail is a beautiful design for sure.

    This one just sold on fleabay for $415. A nice sharp strike and gorgeous golden toning.
