I am seriously considering upgrading to a mirrorless Canon RP. Canons come with free software for RAW file conversion which works well in tone manipulation (digital zone system). I regret no one makes a good still only camera for those not into video but you can ignore it or start making videos if you desire.
I was a dedicated fisherman and planned on fishing 4 to 5 days a week. However I started metal detecting and sold my 3 boats and have been liquidating my vast stock of gear. I spend half of my time doing recoveries and returns for lost items with 29 returns including an $8000 wedding band. The rest Of the time I hunt for historical relics for museums, schools and libraries. My finds and I have been published in numerous newspapers, 5 magazines, including ones in Scotland and the UK and one tv segment. Of course coins are a part of this and my oldest is a 1718 Spanish 1 Reale. All of this is done for free as I don’t accept payment for doing somebody a favor.
Having never been there myself, I imagine a Hot Wheels forum reacting to a Johnny Lightning post the same way that a Lego fan reacts to Mega Bloks -- not kindly.
Here's one of my telescopes - 6" refractor by Explore Scientific. Also a 10" Dobsonian mounted reflector, a 5.1" reflector on a tabletop mount, and 25 x100 binoculars from Oberwerk. So yeah, I like astronomy.
That refractor isn't just a hobby, it's a fitness program! What is it, 50 or 60 pounds with the mount?
With the mount it's like 56 lbs. I have to take it outside in two pieces - first the tripod and then the scope itself. I can mount the scope on the dovetail myself but it's a lot easier with two people. The 10" Dob is actually easier to take out.
I can imagine. I've got a 10" Dob that I can carry on its base, but it's a lot less strain to carry the two separately -- it's just big and awkward. (Then again, so am I...)
