1942 lincolns

    Got two here, rough grade. Its hard to see from the pics, but one is red toned, while the other is red yellow toned, more yellow than red. Is this normal?

    It's pretty common to get color variations, you never know how they were stored. Both look red BU but the left coin has a nasty rim ding. Spotting is pretty normal as well.

    I agree, both look to be MS-63 from what I can make of the pics. The one on the right has a nice sharp strike, but both are nice coins IMHO. :thumb:

    Try adjusting your cameras white balance, and going to a GE Reveal bulb in your lamp.

    Your white background ahould be as close to white as possible in the pictures, otherwise it is impossible to judge the color of the coin as well......

    part of the problem was my camera (coolpix S51 8.1 MP nikkon) had an AF assist orange illumination light that i was able to turn off. I will work on the ge reveal bulb, i had to use the flash with these, they seem to look better.
