When I was a kid probably around 8 or 9 yrs old, after my Pap passed away my brother and I went into the attic of his house and found his old WW1 trunk. Inside the trunk was his WW1 uniform, helmet and some old pictures. There was also an old cigar box in the trunk, its contents were an old rifle bullet which he made into a knife which was kind of neat, the blade was somehow fastened to the bottom of the bullet and that slid into the casing and when put together looked like an unused round. Anyway, there was also a few coins from France and two Morgan Dollars, an 1878 7tf and an 1888. Thats what got me interested. I didnt start collecting until a few years later when I was 12, a friend of mine started collecting, so I went like everyone else did at the time and bought some blue Whitman folders, went to a few shows and sat in a few banks roll searching for silver halves. Thats about it.
