Sorry to hear that. I enjoyed our interaction too. I just got to say, everyone that has an issue with what I did, make sure to never buy from any big coin companies, ever. The only way to get multiple rare new releases to sell is to offer to buy flips like I am doing. I know when I was more active on the board, it seemed like there were more flippers, and less people made a deal out of it. On the PCGS board, we are all posting about our success/failures, etc, and no one is getting upset like on here. I guess I didn't realize how much the attitude has changed in the last year or so. I would not have posted about my success if I knew it would get everyone upset.
Personally, I don't care if someone mentions they got more, as long as they don't brag or irritate others. Unless someone can get HUNDREDS of these, I have to admit that getting a few or even a dozen and making a few hundred per coin -- is it really worth the effort and time ? People can probably make more $$$ if they spent 1/2 that time educating themselves about the financial markets and making some good stock and bond decisions. Reminds me of geniuses who congratulate themselves for getting 300 shares of a hot IPO up $18 on Day 1...meanwhile, the rest of their 6 or 7 figure portfolio is doing nothing.
Exactly my point! And, once again, I will restate for the benefit of our half-fast readers, that I had no interest in purchasing this coin. My only concern is the fairness to others less fortunate. Chris
Larry, let me know if you weren't able to get the 2006-W Burnished Eagle, 2007-W Burnished Eagle or the 2008-W Burnished Eagle. I have all of them in the OGP, and I'll be happy to send one of them to you as a gift. Chris
Issue price was $1160, I think. I flipped mine day 2 to a dealer for $3500. Day 3 a dealer gave me $3100. Day 4 they shut it down because of the mess and chaos. (I missed day 1 of the show).
If it wasn't @jwitten getting them, the Mike Meezaks of the world would have a few more to sell. I'm guessing that for every Eagle that went to collectors, three went to flippers. That's 3-1. (Guessing) I don't believe Mr. Witten intended to offend anyone. Maybe could have worded his post a little differently. I would rather see him, a collector/dealer get them than some completely unscrupulous individuals. Here's a couple links to flipper threads on CU. Very tempting offers. There are plenty more. https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/comment/12466812#Comment_12466812 https://forums.collectors.com/discu...ver-eagle-2019-enhanced-reverse-proof-coin/p1
Thanks Chris. You are the most kind member I have ever known on any of the forums over the past 20 years.
Or really dealers in general. It's common practice for them to offer money for things they know will be a winner. Far worse things happen in the coin world than paying someone a profit for an item / The process was fair to everyone, everyone had to deal with the same underpowered system. Everyone had the chance to pay people a PROFIT to get extra if they wanted.
That would be true if people followed the fair rules "with a household order limit of one coin" which was clearly stated , so all of the 30 others who ordered a coin to their specific Household Address at your request ( so stated also I believe) was not a violation?. If one wishes to cheat , it is hard to stop it. But to brag about it is a little below the bar. As mentioned I did not open my browser on the mint site at all as I knew what such a limited offering would attract. You got them, you are happy, and I am sure that is what matters. IMO, Jim
1. Where did I state I had anyone else order for me much less 30 1a. Where did I brag about it? 2. It was fair to everyone. Everyone could have asked for others to help them or bought them on the after market for a PROFIT from the buyer if they wanted more. 3. To cheat someone would have had to have hacked the system or something of that nature not tried to use the SAME method everyone else had 4. It gets pretty sad when someone can't get basic facts right and decides to throw around accusations which are blatantly false especially when they're a moderator. I'll be looking forward to your apology. PS are you the MOD Squad Moderator?
Nope, because they still just went one per household, and then the other households sent them to the primary one. Not a violation, they followed the rules.
Yes Baseball I do apologize to you , I admit I confused you with Jwitten who remarked in a different thread ; "Kentucky said: ↑ Friends or paid surrogates? Paid friends. Call it what you want, lol. All of them are personal friends that were willing to help me out and make some extra cash. jwitten, " Mea culpa, Jim
OK, I guess everyone thinks the rules had that intent, I don't, but everyone lives within themselves, so I will let it go.
PS are you the MOD Squad Moderator? I of course know who the original mod squad was, but I do not know exactly what you were asking. My posting on subjects within posts is the same status as yours. My posting as a Moderator on what is said in such posts is not. That is why I generally use red to indicate such. Jim
A household is a household. Where is the rule that someone is not allowed to pay someone else a profit for something? Do you need to register with the government that you have one to make sure you can never buy a second?
