De Orc, I checked the US coins you have in your virtual album and with the exception of the Proofs, the Eagles and a few other coins, putting the rest in albums won't hurt the coins provided you take care when inserting them. As for the slides in a Lincoln album, just make sure you place the coin in the middle of the opening and the slides will never touch the coins. The Dansco albums are great for circulated and modern business strike coins. Even certain circulated classic coinage can be placed in albums provided you take care when you put them in.
Guy's I am talking here about a Album for some 500 odd Circulated Cents, not proofs but Circulated what I believe you would call pocket change. I dont think that my touching them is actualy going to cause any harm. Proofs are in Airtights or the mylars they were issued in. Now that is sorted again I will ask how do you place your coins in flips etc without touching them in some manner?
Um now you pick up a coin by the edge and look at your fingers, all you need is a slight wobble and you are touching the face of the coin, very bad practice. I would sugest that you use tweezers as you dont want to run the risk of damaging the surface now do you?
Last week i went to a coin dealer and guess what? he was selling albums for $1 each there were for shillings, florins, penny's and half penny's and ofcouse i bough them all! there was about 12 and he also gave me about 30 auction catalogs that he had no need of for absolutely free! Maybe you should go and find out if any of your dealers around are willing to give/sell you some for cheap or for free even! GL
I was looking for a certain type of album, that was the problem LOL I can pick up every day generic albums without any difficulty
my dear Orc I have never heard of coins being picked by twezzers stamps yes but coins no. Please educate me

Don't "dew" it! He will now try picking his nose with tweezers and he could hurt himself. dd: Ribbit Ps: I stopped by my local coin shop yesterday and while I was there, I asked about old coin albums that he had stripped and he had a box full of them and I'm going to go back today to cut him a deal to get that box out of his way.
Glad to know that. I've been putting coins in albums for as long as there have been albums. Actually I used to put them in Whitman Folders when that was all there was in civilization at the time. Used to push them in with my thumb. Some were difficult so used a soft hammer. The ones that fell out I'd just wet the backs and they would stick to the glue. AHHHH, the good old days. Now all coins in albums and look the way they did when I put them there. If this is the worst way, someone will find out in a few hundred years.
LOL sorry Carl but that was very funny, just had a image of you pounding a coin into the hole with a great big mallet
