    What do you think? Have seen these spears on much newer coins but not this old. i guess its a keeper or send out?

    Is that beef jerky you have that coin on?

    There is a small, very faint spot on the reverse that makes the coin look like it's a woodie. If this is true on the obverse this could be the start of something like a lamination. The photos are not clear and too small.

    Please repost both sides to show full details. Clean out the background and make them clear. Sorry. It so can't think of the correct words.

    i noticed that lincoln's shirt collar appears to be gone till the tie. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

    Cents are made of an alloy (mixture) of copper, tin and zinc. If the elements don't mix correctly, the alloy can break down along lines of incomplete mixing. That is what is called a lamination error...I think (Now I need to do some reading).
