So I got shut out trying to buy from the mint, so I bit the bullet and bought one off of EBAY at about 12:15PM yesterday for $300.00. I got an email last night from the seller telling me that he had decided to keep the coin and would appreciate it if I would accept the cancellation. I'm guessing when he saw that they were selling for over $500.00 he decided that he would cancel my win and resale it later. Anyone ever had this happen ? I'm quite sure EBay will not do anything.

Unless you had plans on flipping it for a quick profit, you might consider yourself lucky that the buyer wants to cancel the transaction. From past experiences, once these "feeding frenzies" settle down in a few months, the prices fall to more normal ranges.

I doubt you could ever get one of these for under $300

I'll ignore your response considering that people like you are part of the problem. I don't believe a damn word you say. You're just trying to protect your interests. I hope your orders get lost or stolen in the mail.

Oh my. I haven't been very active on here lately, and I guess this is part of the reason why. Sorry to have struck a nerve.

I, too, believe the hype and “feeding frenzy” mentality are nothing short of ridiculous, but this response was excessively negative

Alan, I bought the 2013 Reverse Enhanced Proofs for what I believe was $250 or $225 for a pair. This was a few weeks (months ?) after their release; I hadn't even seen or heard of them until I saw them at a local coin show (not sure I was on CT then, I don't think so).

I believe completed sales on Ebay for 1 of the coins now goes for about $50-$60.

There were alot fewer of the 2019's minted but even the 1995-W attached to the gold set has seen its price fall in general and for MS70's and MS69's.

Unless you absolutely positively have to have it NOW....I would wait a few months at least, if not years. That's if you are price-sensitive, of course.

If not, then buy it -- I presume a few hundred dollars won't make a material difference in your life for 1 coin (I presume nobody is buying 50 or 100 of these things where they can lose serious coin, no pun intended :D).

Wait for the hype to wear down. Don't pay these scalpers' insanse prices.
At the end of the day, it is just a coin. Not even something that amazing either.

I've looked at my inflated 2013 Reverse Enhanced coins like 4 times in 6 years since I bought them. :D

    Gotta get that curio......:D

I've said it multiple times and I will say it again. The ONLY reason I bought the coin yesterday (from the mint), was to put it in my 2 month old son's birth year set. Had I not gotten through on the mint website? Oh well, too-bad-so-sad buddy. Guess you won't have them all.

You're not sorry! You don't give a damn about anyone but yourself. As far as I'm concerned, you can stay away permanently.

Yeah, I don't think your son would be complaining about a Reverse Enhanced Proof the next few months and years....probably just wants his bottle and mommy !!

Congrats on the coin and the kid !:D

That's probably ASKING price, let's see what completed sales are.

Yesterday, I saw $600 offers not getting bids.

There are three types of people who don't give a rat's behind how you feel.
    1) Employees of the US Mint.
    2) Hucksters like Mike Mezack.
    3) People like *jwitten*.

I saw a lot of completed sales in the 600/700 range yesterday. People with too much money and too little brains.

Just be glad you didn't get one and wait. The price will drop within a year from know but a coin from the Mint for $70 is insane at an eBay price of $300. If I'm correct they are up to $900. All hype.

One person in this thread tries to buy coins to sell them at a higher price. Another person hurls uncalled for personal attacks over the internet. Time to look in the mirror buddy.

And before you hurl out an attack at me, I'm just a lowly collector and don't flip coins so I'm not actively ruining your life so take it easy on me.
