Does anyone have a source that sells canvas bags, capable of holding several pounds of coins? I tried Brent-Krueger, but all they had were muslin bags. These are menat to hold no more than 1 lb. Thanks.

    TC2007,

I had the same problem and ended up finding a small canvas tool bag at Lowe's. Works great for carrying coins. I use mine when buying rolls at the bank.

The US mint is or was selling them recently, albeit at a price I wouldn't pay. But look on eBay, they can be found on there from time to time. BTW I have lots of them, British linen bags from the 1920's, Royal Canadian Mint bags from the 1960's and US mint bags from the 1970's. And I do NOT collect them, but put them to their intended purpose.

Check the bags at the Cheap Slab Store, (cheapslabs.com) They have some larger bags in stock and carry different sizes from time to time.
Most of these are mint bags, but cost less.

Jack, sorry about the shipping charge on amazon, I should have checked that out first befor posting. Here is one place that charges only shipping by the order so items can be all shipped together as one.
there bags start at $1.55 and up. I was going to order several to keep the price with shipping low. ( netbankstore.com ) shipping is $6.50 per order not per item.

Not sure about where your at but around me all you have to do is go to any bank and ask for a coin bag. Tell them you have jars of coins and want to bring them there. I have about 10 of them and all free from banks. They come in different sizes and very heavy material but I usually get the $50 cent ones.
