A few Coin Talk members got lucky. Other than Mezack how many days do you think before they become available to buy in TPG holders from the other PM dealers.
I really feel bad for those of you who missed out, but you're complaining to the wrong person. Does anyone have the private number for the Director of the Mint? Post it on YouTube and all of the other social media. Chris
@sergeant as long as you do not,, DO NOT OPEN the box when you get the coin. you can take it to your town's coin shop and see how much it would be to send it in through the coin shop. I would say ruffly 50 to 70 to have them send it in, or buy the pgcs club and send it in your self lowest cost of $69 with no free bee's coin submissions and then the cost of grading and $15 extra for coa. I still say take it to your coin shop! unless you plan on sending in coin's
If Mike has them for sale I will know for sure that the fix was in and will stop ordering from the mint. Not that the mint will care, but we bought a lot from them this year.
True. Okay thanks. I'll think about it. I'm in college now and I shipped it home so I made sure to let mom know not to open it.
Can't wait to hear his droning voice on HSN talking about them. *shoots self in head to end the misery*
My father was somehow able to snag one, but the website would not let me complete step 4 and pay for the item...kept getting error. We both live in different residences.
I look at that PCGS thing and I think getting the COA encapsulated is about the dumbest thing I've ever seen, it's a separate encapsulation. Seems like just putting the cert. Number on the slab label would be just fine.. oh wait they do that. I don't "get it" at all. Lol
I, my wife, and my brother (all in different locations), each had one in our carts in short order, but simply couldn't check out. The payment page came up several times showing it was in my cart, but I couldn't pay. Oh well, not a huge issue in the overall scheme of things.
Same thing happened to me. In the cart, then that’s all she wrote. Nothing much that can be done about it, except cancel my subscriptions to the regular ASE proofs, which I’ve done. I’ll let the Mint sell those to the flippers.
If the people at the Mint cared, they wouldn’t conduct business like this. But then again, they aren’t real business like you. They are the government where everyday is a holiday!
When I complained to Mint support weeks ago about how this would hurt the collector, I e-mailed USMint-support@usmcatalog.com - it wouldn't hurt to try this route, too.
I'm really hoping I get one of those too but so far just the order acknowledgement... no confirmation yet...
I had one in my cart as soon as they were available and the site went down, same as you. I am wondering why the Mint would set up a situation where the majority of their customers would end up either angry, disappointed, or both. The 30,000 limit, while cute (less than 1995W), was awful for all of us who are collectors and cannot get through to the Mint. They are preselling on EBAY starting at 700.00. I am rethinking what to do now with my hobby. I just feel the Mint is out of touch with real collectors.
