What will they think of next!

I know! First Strikes will be smashed with a hammer before shipping.

They should have cross promoted their new US banknote department by having them "slab" (or whatever the term is for currency -- "sleeve?") the COA.

They will put literally anything in plastic. I blame PCGS for global warning.

But how will I guarantee that the slabbed coin and the slabbed COA don't get separated? Why can't I get both slabs encapsulated in an outer display slab?

And what about the box? How will I preserve my OGP in a way that ties it permanently to the coin and COA?

I know the answer! PCGS can offer to slab the entire mint shipping box, tape and all! Guaranteed un-tampered! Of course, then they couldn't really offer an opinion on whether it's a 69 or a 70...

Don't give them any more stupid ideas. Though I'd be shocked if they haven't thought of this already...

Will they slab the printed invoice too? Heck they can slab my phone to commemorate the phone that I purchased the coin with.

Slab your thumb that used the phone to place the order.

well if they want to slab the thumb, they should slab my entire corpse, I hope I get at least a 64+, maybe even a PL

This cert slabbing is perhaps the most idiotic thing I've ever seen a TPG do.

That's actually a good idea. That would promote toning, making them even more valuable.

Well, after reading the entirety of the announcement, I can only come to the conclusion that PCGS has been entirely infiltrated by former US Mint employees/retirees, & they have completed the indoctrination of everyone there!

It's specifically about only the 2019 coin. (Probably a test for things to come) And apparently, you can have it pedigreed to the "Nov. Baltimore" show if you submit it there.

But further evidence of how stupid these people are, if they really want to sell this stuff to people who don't know better, all they have to do is make a YouTube video & them sell them on Etsy...guaranteed they won't be able to keep them in stock!

On the other hand, it's "only" an additional $15 to slab the cert!:D:confused:o_O:eek:

This is a sign of the end times.

Also, why don't they grade the cert too.

What's the point of a certificate of authenticity slabbed separately from the coin? Doesn't the slab the coin is in already serve as a certification of the authenticity? Is there any point to this at all?

For now. People have been asking them about having COA issue numbers placed on slabs for years now which you get with this option. I'm really just surprised that it took as long as it did to start doing it

Some people like it like the ones that keep the COAs and OGP. It's obviously an upcharge for people that want it and the slabbing of it really is just their way of tieing the two together so that it's the cert that came with it hence all the restrictions and then obviously having their slab on it is brand awareness for them. Messy had the better idea with the cross promotion with the currency side which may be where that ultimately ends up

I'm going for the coveted gold bean COA.
