Grade this 1917 Merc Dime (better than the last!)

    So before I had you guys grade a 1917-S Merc Dime, which was about VF-20 at best.

    but looking through my mercury dimes I found this, which is even better than that one!
    What's that grade on this one? Thanks very much! :thumb:

    XF 40 details for an apparent lack of luster.

    Might be AU if the coin has luster but it just isn't shown in the photos.

    The reverse doesnt have much luster.

    I'd say XF-40 , nice solid coin , if it has luster 45 . Hope you show us some more Mercs.

    Full Split Bands (speaking of the horizontal bands on the faces on the reverse). Coins that have this feature, often found flatly struck, are worth a significant premium to coins that don't.

    Your coin, by the way, doesn't have them -- in my opinion. Respectfully...Mike

    I agree , I meant that his coin looked like it used to have FSB .

    Looks like a solid 45 to me and does not look like it had FSB's IMHO.
