Silver Eagle goes on sale tomorrow (I know. Dead horse to many).........Get up by 11 am.......sign in to web site. Hover for 45 minutes, excessing and refreshing, and then striking at 12 PM, hopefully walking off with a prize. Who's in with me?
In my condition? I won't even know what time it is let alone how to do it. LOL My friend. Think of me when you're ordering.
Got locked out and their site crashed. Finally let me add it to my bag and then said no longer available. I don't want it that bad.
Oh, and by the way, I got an email from Dave's coins, because I have ordered from him in the past. He was offering $121 over the mint price. If I got his email, I suspect many others did as well. So basically, the dealer's locked the rest of us out. I was signed on and ready to add the coin one second after noon. Kind of ridic.
I read this thread and got caught up in the chase and had to try even though I didn't really want one, LOL. I got one in my cart almost immediately but the site crashed every time I tried to pay. I gave up after 10 minutes of trying to pay for the stupid thing.
Pretty much the same thing happened to me. Not heartbroken, but kind of miffed by the prospect of dealers enlisiting strangers to purchase for them. I'll lose my sh@# if I see Mike Mezack selling them slabbed on HSN for $3K. Presellers on ebay were preselling slabbed PR70's for $1768.00. I was just trying to get one for my husband as a Christmas present. Oh well.
The way I look at it, the $70 I saved will go a long way towards the purchase of a nice Bust half dollar, or something similar, and I'll like it more.
Not just the dealers, a lot of collectors do the same thing having all their friends and family trying to order them as well so they can resell them.
