I was going through my rolls of Linclon's to get them in order for selling when I happened on a partial roll of 1943D's I had apparently seperated from the main roll because of certain characteristics. To the point, I re-looked at these coins and discovered one that had moderate seperation on the BER the I had it notched on the east bottom of the letter and the T had slight seperation line under the west side of the vertical leg and on that side heading downward. When taking pictures of the coin I noticed that the I & N also had notching on the west side bottom of their respective letters. W & E also appear to have slight seperation on the top of the east side of the letters. The last T in TRUST appears to show a very slight seperation line on the west end of the horizontal bar of the letter. On the date the digit 9 has a very slight apparent seperation line on the east top side of the outer curve in a position that is very reflective and can be seen with a loup, but a photo always shows too much reflective white light. The digit 4 has seperation line on the east end of the horizontal bar. The digit 3 has seperation showing slightly to moderately on the inner curve of the upper portion of the digit and at the vertex of the 2 curves meeting at the center point of the digit. According to CONECA a DDO-003 EDS doesn't show signs of die cracks on the lapel to the rim, or in the head area; this coin has none. It neither has a die chip on the east side of the VDB. I feel this coin would grade out at MS65 as there are no distracting marks, scraps, cuts, or any other things that would distract from its overall beauty and eye appeal. The reverse is in similar condition. The strike is very sharp as can be seen in the photos I have taken. I hope I can get some of the most prominant photos up loaded for your consideration adn review.
Thank you! I have a friend in California who is interested in getting it from me, but I have given enough away to friends and feel this might be something a little newer or in better condition than some older specimens that have been documented. It's just that CONECA's master listings doesn't described some of the things this coin possesses. Thank you. MikeA
If it is a DDO it is so minor that there would be almost no premium. I do believe that it isn't an RPM, many '43 steelies show 'shadow' mintmarks like that -- perhaps due to the hardness of the steel.
I'm pretty sure it's not an RPM, but I'm not sure if it is, or isn't a DD. I don't think it's the DDO#3, but I could be wrong on that. LINK Best of luck determining what it is. :thumb: Phoenix
