A penny Conder token featuring headmaster Philemon Holland of the Free School, Coventry on the obverse and the interior of the school on the reverse. 36mm.
Some large-ish US coppers. I like 2-cent pieces when I can find them in the discount bin ($4.95). I don't know how great a price that is for very worn ones, but it's the cheapest I can find them. Also a large cent and two types of Indian heads showing the thicker Cu-Ni alloy compared to the later bronze type.
Voyage of HMS Challenger, 1895, a cast bronze award medal, by B. Rhind, 75mm. Inscribed on the edge to Edgar Albert Smith, one of the scientists analyzing the extensive plant and animal data from Challenger's voyage. (BHM 3487; E 1797). You might guess Smith's scientific specialty from his grave marker.
BHM 1087, G. Mills' take on the coronation of George IV with The King's Champion. The legend PRO REGE DIMICO is the motto of the Dymoke family, hereditary King's Champion.
