Thanks for taking the time to put this all together, Curtis. As always, you put on a top notch game and kept us all entertained. Congrats to the winners!
Really enjoyed the thread @Curtisimo ...Thanks! As you can tell from my high score I know the disposition of all the volunteers like the back of my hand
Wait, I got the single one I guessed on wrong, skipped out on the rest because I felt I had no chance, yet here I am 5th place winner?
I guess I didn't understang anything to the rules (to be fair I didn't read them ) but that was really fun My secret goal was to have 0 guesses right and I failed even at such an humble and easy task, having no less than one right. Next time I'll get it !! Thanks again @Curtisimo for such a good entertainment Q
I am very shocked I won and at the same time elated! Since I like the way you think when it comes to coin collecting I will choose mystery coin 4. Thanks @Curtisimo for the opportunity!
As embarrassed as I am with my 1/5 showing, I must have little shame as, I will still gladly except and pick prize #1. Thanks so much for putting this on @Curtisimo! This really was fun and something to look forward to each time the new threads came up.
Congrats to all the winners, and thanks to @Curtisimo for putting together this entertaining contest!
Holy cow! I actually got one right! Better than last time lol. Congrats to the winners and thanks to the participants! Mad props go to Curtisimo for organizing this awesome contest!! Erin
Splendid! If you pm me your address, this Kushan AE tetradrachm showing Huvishka chillaxing on his couch will be on its way to you today. (It looks somewhat different in hand, though. The green and black patina successfully resisted my amateurish photography attempts,) Huvishka, Kushan Empire, AE tetradrachm, ca. 140–180 AD, Kapisa mint. Obv: king reclining on couch l.; as usual, legend is off flan. Rev: MAO, moon goddess Mao standing facing, head l., reaching out r. arm; tamga in l. field. 24mm, 9.35g. Ref: Mitchiner 3304–3307.
The number of chances to win was based on how much you commented, posted coins, made me chuckle etc. per the rules. Each chance earned was assigned a number and a random number generator picked the winner of the prizes. The order of the prize picks was was determined by who among the winners had the most correct guesses with a tie breaker to who earned the most chances. So for instance. @CoinBlazer earned only one chance to win in Round 1. His chance was assigned the number 33. The random generator returned the number 33 and thus @CoinBlazer won a coin. The statistical odds of that happening were very remote. Clear as mud?
Is it too late to donate prizes? I would like to donate a $1000 AMCC credit to anyone who correctly identified all owners once the coins were revealed in round 5. Oh! Look at that!
Another great contest by Curtis whom graciously donates not only some of the prizes but I suspect a big chunk of his time, I would like to accept prize 5 and I will also send Curtis another $25 to donate to All Hands and Hearts - Smart Response as this charity is very much like him tirelessly working to help others. Also a big thanks to the other contributors to this contest making it fun for everyone.
Excellent @NLL and congratulations! Here is your prize... Riddle: A city named for a sister, struck reverses in the spirit of justice. Answer: The city if Marcianopolis was named after Trajan’s sister Marciana. On the reverse of this coin we see Dikaiosyne who was the representative spirit of... justice! (Original sellers photos) I think you will like this coin because at 11 g and 28 mm it is a larger size coin that feels really nice in-hand. ...AAAANNND. If you feel like taking a stab at an attribution or two and will agree to post your conclusions I’ll throw in an extra for ya. Please PM me with the address you would like me to shop to
