the mint changed tactic. get presidential rolls at cost directly from the u.s. mint and ship to the your house door with no shipping charge. limited 500 coin or $500.00. hurry while supply last.

i hope the mint will continue offer free shipping to the rest of the presidential series. hopefully it will also include future sac dollars.

you like the idea or not. voice out. thanks.

It's one way to try & get these coins circlating , they're only talking of circulation strikes , but I'm sure you could find a couple of 65 or 66 in a bag of 500 , I think they would even ship less but can't remember the amounts . A good idea .

    continue.....

yes, $250.00 too. the different is that the roll might contain both mint mark. other thing is that all coin will be uncirculated.

Imagine that, our government giving us money for, gasp, what it's worth (+ S&H). What a novel idea. ;)

I'd rather go for $100 , but $250 is OK , can always use the lower graders on the el or Parking meters .

Well I am in a never ending battle with my change bucket. You know trying to remember each morning to grab a handful of change so I will not keep bringing home more change to add to my change bucket, soon to be a barrel at the rate I am going (no kids in the house). Would be nice to use your credit card and get some cash back credit but I am not sure it would be worth the effort, for me at least.

Most people do not even know these coins even exist where I live. I do not want to have to explain what it is to some cashier and then have to TRY and explain it to some manager, who probably does not have a clue either. It is probably a lot easier in the big city but down here in the swaps where I live, I am afraid it would be to much work for someone as lazy as me. I know I should do my part to help circulate these coins but I do not think I can do it by myself. Gosh I might even get arrested.

Still it seem to be a good idea for a lot of people. It would be nice if you could specify the P or D mint mark. I am not sure you can do that. I hope they can do something to get them in circulation. Seems most people believe one day this coin will replace the dollar bill. Might as well get started and use to it.

Parking meters take a dollar now? Wow... I got to get out more. The closest little town I live near use to have parking meters but had to take them down because everyone got upset about having to pay a quarter to park.

I wish the Mint would sell me their dollar coins at cost. According to the Mint the production cost for Golden Dollar coins is 21.14 cents each. However, the Mint is charging face value for these coins and they are making 78.86 cents each (less shipping costs) as seignorage.

That's been our rate for downtown parking for a year or two now. Bad for downtown businesses.

nice deal it sounds. But seriously, If they are trying to encourage the dollar coin into circulation, why would they keep producing the dollar bill? Its not going to work unless you nix the dollar bill.

Thats the only way they will circulate , the gov. probably will have to make a advisory board to figure it out .

    well, keep them all

we loved so much collecting everything. paper money, coins either made in steel, aluminum, zinc, copper, nickel, silver, gold, platinum and now even palladium. that is why the government can't stop issuing one dollar paper note or discontinue one cent. because there will be people objecting it.

Hi, these coins are circulated quality(not uncirculated). So i assume they are just for paying for goods or services, not for nusimatic purposes? So there are different quality business strikes? Maybe mint rolls are better quality than the strings rolls that you get at the bank?

    no way jose

bank roll and mint roll are just the same uncirculated. and the different is just the wrapper. in fact, the mint stated that they were 2008 john quincy adams. those were new and uncirculated. if the mint cheat us. return them. period.
