I think the "hobby protection act" of 1973 applies to gaming tokens and they have to be marked with their precious metals content somwhere visible on it. A magnet is a good way to check. If a coin is marked 999 silver and it sticks to a magnet it's a fake/counterfeit bullion and coins. The token is marked 1993 so it would have to be marked with the silver content if it had silver in it.
