I do, I have macro and super-macro. I'll get you a closeup of the date. I will use the same pictures, but instead of making the image smaller, I'll just crop the date out. thanks for the help
I can see your point here, and it makes sense. But like said, all we have to go by are pics, and we are supposed to offer an opinion or judgement that we come up with from looking at the pics. The first pics (IMHO) looked washed out, where it looks like it was cleaned at one time, (might not have been, but that's what the coin looked like at first IMHO ) Nice coin Magman! :thumb: Phoenix
I understand that we where asked for our opinions, and nothing wrong with saying what you think. I just not only look at the coin but what it's housed in, and this coin was behind a thin layer of plastic in the first pic, and this will always distort the light. I also noticed the normal grime around the letters and date, and the brown color (copper changes colors more dramatically than any coin metal when dipped), and all this indicated an 'original' surface to me. But on to the news pics... I don't think it's a Breen variety from these pics. It's difficult to see a lot with most pictures and the normal grime around the date doesn't help (but shouldn't be removed). Just look at the date under a microscope and see if there are any signs of an over-date. Thanks for taking more pics!
no problem, thank you! looking at the date with a loupe will have to wait a few weeks, as I dont take my coins with me to the university.
I don't see any evidence of a cleaning either and I will stick with my second grade of XF45. And it is still a nice coin. Much better pictures.
i give it a grade of XF-45 its a real nice coin with no surface dings, nice eye appeal, thanks for sharing, ozark
Hey people, any coins that has been around as long this coins is perfect in my book not the grading system. Sweet.
