    (Actually yesterday)

I had mentioned sometime ago on an earlier thread that I had ordered the new British Royal Shield of Arms Base Metal and Silver Proof sets in addition to the UNC set. Well, within a week or two after placing my order, the UNC set was shipped out and I received it in a week or so afterwards. Then the next week, my silver proof set was sent out. After a few weeks, I hadn't receieved it and I called the Royal Mint. They said that I had to wait a month from the date that it was shipped before they could process a claim.

So on Thursday I called and filed a claim. In addition, (I don't know why I didn't do this before) I went down on Friday to my local USPS hub and to see if they had it laying around. (This happened once before with another set I had ordered and they found it) I have to say that the USPS employees spent some time looking around to see if they could find it. They took down my name, address and phone number. Saturday when I got back from work, a package lay on my doorstep. I knew exactly what it was. It was delieved wrapped in grey plastic and had a label on it from the USPS Recovery Center in Georgia.

The silver set was in its box, which was then placed into a Royal Mint grey outter box, then placed into a cardboard box. The cardboard box had a Royal Mint sticker on it, but no address label. Nothing was damaged and I was extremely happy. I am guessing that the original plastic envelope that the Royal Mint uses to mail their stuff out was damaged and the USPS had to rewrap it.

I don't know if me going to down to the post office had anything to do with it turning up or was it a coincidence? I don't know why I shared all of this, but let's just say it was therapeutic! :goofer:

DE ORC - Body Bagged! LOL! That is so true. It was. I love the coin set and can't wait to get the Base Metal set in. I have been communicating with Spock and he got the Piedfort set in and has tempted me to get it. I will definitely purchase one if it is still available, but only after some financial stuff works out. My wife was even impressed with the set - and that says something!

Well, the last of my order finally arrived yesterday. It was the base metal British Royal shield of Arms proof set. I didn't get home from work until after 10pm so I didn't get a chance to look at it. I opened the envelope this morning just to make sure it was what I thought it was and it was! WOW?@!? (That's alot of waz's) No damage to the outter box. So hopefully, I will get a chance to look at it this weekend. Joe
