Nah Paddyman.. I just want you to take a closer look... N your honestly going to tell me that it's not a Double Die??
N im bout to post it again to see what people say... THANKS FOR THE DOUBTS BUDDY... JUST MAKES ME WANNA GO HARDER!!!!!
The cent shows die deterioration doubling and on the date, the flattened portions of the date are mechanical doubling. The best here have given their opinion. You have the coin , if you don't think we are correct, send it in to ANACs or other grading service. Reposting Will Not change our minds on it as we just have photos to evaluate, but I assure you we do not take these questions in jest. Please try to read and learn from the posts containing identification information. Do not just continue to repeat the same photos expecting different opinions. The forum doesn't allow 'bumping ' threads or the same coin over and over. Thanks! Jim
Thanks Jim I really appreciate it sir... I appreciate u talking to me as a person n not trying to make me feeel stupid like othet members do... Thanks a lot buddy... N in will take your advice... Oh you are back.. What took you so long? I'm only telling you the truth about your Cent. I have never tried to make you feel stupid. I only try to help people. But since you didn't listen you made yourself look stupid. Go ahead and TRY HARDER. I'm not trying to discourage you but only help. Who knows. Maybe it will be you to find an actual Doubled Die 1969 S!
Mr.Jim.. I'm sorry to bother you sir... But could you please give me your personal opinion on one last coin? Thanks.. N won't bother you again... Have a Blessed one..
I'm not jim But I will try to help you once more.. You yourself need to compare it to this true Doubled Die 1969 S -
To a beginner, the significance of amount of shifting may be difficult to estimate, and so they may think any such in a lesser amount would be also. JJ look at where the image of the letters coincide and how the edges blend into each other rather than just overlap. That is because they are the same height and due to same force use to put the image into the die. Other forms of doubling that appear as a true doubled die do not. Most are flat and appeared more smeared. Good Luck , Jim
@Jj Oliva It still looks like a normal cent to me and I’ve been collecting Lincoln cents for 50 years not that that makes me an expert but I’ve seen a couple of coins before. You should drop it as your time could be better spent searching for real anomalies and errors. BTW if @paddyman98 told me my coin wasn’t an error I’d believe his opinion as he is one of the sites more experienced error collectors. I can’t believe he is still trying to help you after all this frustration you have caused. Hope this helps, Reed.
With enough sharpening to an image, all sorts of things start looking like they could be DDO /DDR. The sharpening, and the halo effect that comes with sharpening, sort of exaggerate lines and create the illusion of doubling that either isn't there are all, or is not the sort of doubling that anyone cares about. The cell phone photos in the OP, have a ridiculous amount of sharpening. Older / cheaper cell phones do this to overcome that fact that for the most part, they are low-resolution and low quality. At a normal zoom, most people don’t care, don’t notice, and they will only ever view your family photo, or sunset, or dog picture on their own small phone screen. The problem comes when you try to zoom in, crop, and do close up macro type photos. The resolution is just not there to crop these crappy cell phone pictures. So, the over-sharpening becomes extremely obvious when used to show things like close up coin images. @Jj Oliva I would recommend if you are going to play the "search for varieties" game, you invest in a slightly better camera setup. You don’t need to spend a lot of money. Older used gear can be had for a song.
You can't possibly be serious after all the examples have been shown to you. I've superimposed your coin's lettering with those of an authentic DDO. Can you still not see the difference?????
