These two national notes I just picked up recently to add to the collection as my first two examples of National Notes. Yes, they are not pretty, there are folds but no pinholes or tears. They were inexpensive so I could afford to add them. I hope to be able to add more examples of National notes to the collection that have seen less use than these two. I am glad I got these two....we will see what else I can find to build them up!
Err.....mistake on my part After looking at my "Paper Money of the United States" book, I found that I need to make a correction. Even though these are labeled "National Currency" at the top of the note, these are Federal Reserve notes. Oh, well.....I have examples of those. Now I need to try again and get a National for the collection.
Small Size Federal Reserve Bank Notes Smaugy...LOL Details, details and more details..LOL Nice notes RickieB
Also note that the $10 has two different styles of "A" in the two serial numbers. The high-crossbar "A" (seen in the left-hand serial) is a bit scarce in the 1929 FRBN series; it was used on the earliest small-size notes beginning in 1928, but was gradually replaced by the low-crossbar "A" not long after.
