    I recently watch a 1950- NGC MS66 RED go for $185 {NGC Census: (385/65). PCGS Population (394/18)} (360/10) #350067184510
    Just previous to that one, a 1947- NGC MS66 RED went for $57 {NGC Census: (339/12). PCGS Population (360/10)}

    As can be seen, the 1950- is more common (although similar to) than the 1947- in all respects. Why is the 1950- worth 3 time what the 1947- is? Before you say "That is eBay", the 1950- goes for $100+ on Heritage while the 1947- is $50 or less.

    The PCGS price guide lists the 47 for $350 and the 50 for $225, so I have no clue why the auction prices are the other way around? Maybe there are more peeps collecting coins that were born in 1950 than 1947? :goofer:

    Ribbit :)

    I am one of those peeps, but the other one. I was born in 1947. However, I am on the wrong side of the pricing. I already have 2 X 1947-, but only 1 X 1950-.

    It only takes 2 people looking at one time to have a bid war, in this case there were 3 folks who went past $100.

    Go figure, without reverse pics and no close-ups, logic does not figure into your question:)

    Because at those auctions there were more people who wanted/needed the 50 than wanted/needed the 47.
