I enjoy showing the members of the Forum the upgrades and additions to my various collections. Even though many of you do not collect the coins that I collect—I know that you have far more of an appreciation for them than most folks I encounter in daily life. You are often aware of the historical and monetary value of the coins. You are also familiar with the various ancient coin traders who I include in the pedigree which is often featured on my posters. This particular upgrade was acquired from one such highly respected and trusted source.

Below is the coin that is being replaced. Although I consider it very good—I think the upgrade shows far more detail. At least, due to the toning, it is far easier to see the characters and the cornucopia is more complete.

Feel free to post any examples of your coin collection upgrades.

I love your ancient collection, @Deacon Ray ! Always fun to follow.

Curious: Are these the SAME coins? I do not understand the posting as an upgrade.

I always chuckle when I hear the words LEPTON and PRUTAH. I always have images of some sort of aliens:

Thank you for your kind words, @Alegandron ! I need to confess that the Hebrew inscriptions on Hasmonean coins are difficult for me to decipher. My dyslexic mirror-writing tendencies don’t help either. I generally have to trust the source who sold me the coin. That being said, I'm having my doubts now that the coin being replaced was actually a Hendin 1145. I believe it may have been a case of mistaken identity which now makes it’s replacement all the more important.

No problem at all to me! I hope that I helped.

I, too, am highly dyslexic. I always have to consciously look at and read carefully to ensure that I am getting the message correctly. It can be very frustrating for me. However, the odd dyslexic thought processes that we have can lead to very creative approaches to life! :D

It is actually quite hard to tell in this condition since only two last letters of the name left and corroded so much I can't distinguish tav (jonaTan) from nun (johaNan)...

    I don't think I have a Hendin 1145; I think this one is 1144:
